FREE Garden-to-Table CPEsCommitment to Preceptors
We have also developed six FREE continuing education opportunities for preceptors with a garden-to-table focus. (Note: you can get CPE credit for Interactive Workshops (Lecture or Lecture and Lab) if you attend live, but these have not been approved for CPE credit if recorded.) Please take a look, and join us if you can. We've included all the details you need in the attached document. Fill out the linked form in the document or email us to let us know which sessions you plan to attend. We will be using shared Google sheets and slides for some of the labs, so you will need to be able to access Google Drive. Therefore, you might have to use a non-work computer/email for those assignments (some facilities have very strict firewalls). About Classes Each class will meet via Zoom for the one-hour lecture portion. Labs can be done on your own and are due three weeks after the lecture. The class will be a mix of RDs, dietetic interns, and any current or past preceptors who are interested in joining us. These classes are being designed to meet CDR requirements for Experiential Skills Development and can be logged on your Professional Development Plan. The labs will be done after the didactic meeting; the results from labs will be shared at the next meeting. The lectures will be recorded and available for viewing after the event. Please let us know if you would like a link to the recording. The Interactive Workshops will not be available. Goals for Participants: Increase skills, understanding, and enthusiasm for turning raw ingredients into food in ways that allow us to utilize local produce year round, improve digestibility/nutrient utilization. Goal for Garden to Table Nutrition (GTTN): Increase our connection with our preceptors - invite them to join our garden-to-table journey. Gain skills, knowledge, insight from all community members (preceptors, interns). Increase connection/engagement between students and preceptors with the possibility of participating in this GTTN lead workshop together. Give back to preceptors in a meaningful way, educate our interns. **The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy) and Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) are not responsible for the provider’s interpretation of the Academy/CDR Code of Ethics for the Nutrition and Dietetics Profession or its enforcement as it relates to the scenarios and content presented in this activity.** |
