Program Overview
Garden to Table Nutrition offers a distance dietetic internship with 1,000 hours of supervised practice. This means that interns can live wherever they would like in the United States (i.e., they don't need to move for the program). They are responsible for finding their own preceptors (we can help!). Preceptors need to be qualified for their role. Applicants with a strong background in nutrition can apply for credit for prior learning, which, could decrease the number of supervised practice hours.

Our Spring Match cohort includes a required in-person five-day On-Site in Washington State, while our Fall Match cohort is fully remote, but requires a local On-Site assignment).
Local Food Production Concentration
Dietetic Interns will spend 80 hours getting hands-on farm/garden experience: growing, harvesting, dehydrating, or canning food during their internship, either at our Washington community garden, or in a location they choose themselves. This prepares students to make a positive impact on their communities through the promotion of healthful nutrition and they will guide others in growing, harvesting, and preparing food.

Tuition  $9,000

NOTE: While Garden to Table Nutrition is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid, if you are doing a Master's program at the same time, you can apply for financial aid. (NOTE: We've heard from University of Alabama Master's students that they usually get about $5,000 beyond the cost of tuition.)

While state interpretations of statutes may vary, it is ACEND's considered opinion that the program meets the educational requirements for dietetics licensure and certification in all states. However, completing an ACEND-accredited academic program alone does not qualify an individual for licensure or certification as a dietitian in any state. Individuals should review their state's licensing statutes and regulations to understand the specific requirements, including supervised practice and examinations, needed to obtain a dietetics license. More information about state licensure and certification can be found at this link: State Licensure.
