IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO APPLY to Garden to Table Nutrition Internship!

If you did not apply through DICAS, please see our
"Sprint-to-the-finish" option

In addition to your 1000 hours of supervised practice, there are three required Garden to Table Nutrition courses: Orientation (online), 5 Days On-Site in WA,  and Friday meetings (online).

Interns meet on-line for orientation in May/June.
Must be fully vaccinated by June 15th
Required in person on-site in Bothell WA July 8-12
Monthly 30 minute Advisory Meetings

Official start date is July 8th, all interns completing the program by April 8th will need to pay $100 a month extension fee.

Is a Master's Degree Required?

No, but you need a viable plan to meet CDR's requirements. If you finish your internship after December 31, 2023, you will need a Master's degree before you can take the CDR exam.
All interns who do not graduate from the internship by December 31, 2023 must either already have a Master's degree, or be enrolled in a Master's program before starting the internship, with plans to finish the Master's within one year of competing the internship.

OPTIONS for those without a Master's:
1. Enroll in a Master's program before you apply or just after match day (we have a close relationship with the University of Alabama and John Patrick University, they both offer fully-remote degrees)
2. "Sprint-to-the-finish" - this option requires you to have significant relevant experience (NDTR, CDM, WIC, etc.), which gives you Credit for Prior Learning AND requires that you start working part-time on the internship requirements immediately after Match day, and full -time by June/July.

Orientation

Exact dates/times TBD.  Expect 2 meetings a week between May 28th and July 1st.  Each meeting will be 2-3 hours long, and there will be 3-5 hours of required reading and assignments to do BEFORE each class meeting. Topics include: GTTN mission, diversity & bias, permaculture, US agriculture, cultural foodways, infant nutrition, nutrition focused physical exam, wild edibles, a clinical skills, case study.

Friday Meetings

We’ll meet online on Fridays twice a month after on-site. These are required. We suggest you arrange your schedule to either take Fridays off, or do half days on Fridays. You’ll need time to attend these meetings and to work on assignments and study for your RDN exam. Required meetings will be twice a month between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM PST. We’ll use this time for your clinical case studies, presentations, guest speakers, and garden-to-table topics.
