DICAS The application period for the Fall 2025 programs begins now and goes through October 30, 2025. If accepted, you will need to notify us of your decision and pay the nonrefundable deposit on or before November 15, 2025. We have interns available to talk with you, if you are wanting to know more about our program from an intern perspective. |
Master's Degree
All interns must either already have a Master's degree or be enrolled in a Master's program before starting the internship. It will need to be completed prior to graduation from the internship.
OPTIONS for those without a Master's: Enroll in a Master's program before you apply or just after acceptance. (We have a close relationship with the University of Alabama, Cedar Crest and John Patrick University; they all offer fully-remote degrees.) |
Foundational Practices in Dietetics & PermacultureWe will have eight required online meetings 12:30 - 3:30 PM Pacific Time in January and, maybe, the first week of February. There will be 5-6 hours of required reading and assignments to do BEFORE each class meeting. Topics include: GTTN mission, diversity & bias, permaculture, US agriculture, cultural foodways, infant nutrition, nutrition focused physical exam, wild edibles, a clinical skills, case study.

Friday MeetingsWe’ll meet online on Fridays twice a month starting in February 2026. These are required. We suggest you arrange your schedule to either take Fridays off, or do half days on Fridays. You’ll need time to attend these meetings and to work on assignments and study for your RDN exam. Required meetings will be twice a month between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM Pacific Time on the 2nd and 4th Fridays. We’ll use this time for your clinical case studies, presentations, guest speakers, review for the CDR exam, and garden-to-table topics.

Local On-Site
Find On-Site opportunities in your own area.
- Do six half-day experiences, or a mix of half-day and full day experiences, to gain “hands on” garden-to-table exposure.
- Create a video presentation or slideshow with pictures/video clips that we could use with future cohorts.
- You will gain additional supervised “Alternative Learning Experience,” and/or some garden-to-table hours.
